Distribution
It is endemic to the United States in Montana and Northern Arizona, 1800-3000 meters. It comes from the location of height, not like in the summer, excessive heat, especially moist heat.
Description
It is a lone cactus with green stem and 2.5-15 cm tall, 12.5 cm in diameter, is flattened in winter, with spirally arranged tubercles 6-15 mm long; areolas young mussels, 5 to 11 central spines pale yellow in mature plants, 1-2 cm in length, 15 to 35 white radial 6-12 mm long.
The flowers are bell-shaped, pale pink or pale yellow, are at the apex of the plant and reach 15-25 mm in width and length. The fruits are spherical, green with a reddish tinge occasionally split open when ripe.
Cultivation
Irrigation needs: Regular water in late winter, early spring and in autumn, when it starts to grow, and very little water at other times. Use a soil with little organic matter.
