The Mountain’s Lady Mantle

Mountain Lady's mantle (Alchemilla Monticola) is a perennial plant (hemikryptofyt), which belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). Mountain Lady's mantle is on the Dutch Red List of plants as very rare, but stable or increased.

The plant is 8-30 cm tall and produces rhizomes. The stem and round, gray-green, serrated leaves are densely hairy with straight hairs. The young leaf steal the hair stand up at an angle. The leaves on the stem are usually clearly lobed. Steal the flower are hairless or have only a few foot, scattered hairs. The stipules of the rosette leaves do not dry out quickly.

Mountain Lady's mantle blooms from May to autumn by 2-4 mm wide, yellow-green flowers that are arranged in a compact bijscherm. The calyx tube is coated. Sepals shorter to slightly longer than the calyx tube and are tilted up after flowering. The bijkelkbladen are much smaller than the sepals.

The fruit is an achene eenzadige.

The plant is found on moist to rather wet, grassy ground.
